DF says…

Despite the oftentimes silly/lightheartedness moments in the show, Grisaia no Kaijitsu (GnK) has some solid story elements to it. Behind the sometimes unnecessary-ish ecchi moments (lol, did I just say that?) lies some pretty deep character exploration and pseudo psychological(?) themes ( the OVAs though– that shit was pure ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ). I’ve no experience with the original VN and that universe but I would imagine that the anime adaptation did it some justice. A few gripes I had with GnK was the lack of population in the atmosphere. We get a handful of characters and it literally felt just that– very empty and linear. Not a huge deal I suppose but just something I wanted to nitpick at. Additionally, the pacing switch up that occurred in the latter half of the show that implied visual novel routing felt a bit awkward at first but overall, was acceptable.
